VALLE DE COCORA (PART II)

Go here for Part I (which has most of the palm pics).

One of the streams in Valle de Cocora...

The other main stream (this one in the cloud forest)...

These streams flow into the Quindio River (viewed a little below Valle de Cocora at around 6000' elevation)...

Now...looking up the valley to the east (towards the cloud forest)...

A cloud forest on the cloudy/foggy/rainy day (even though it was 3 PM, it was as dark as if it were 30 minutes after sunset!)...

Cloud forest the next morning...

A branch of a glory bush (Tibouchina lepidota) with blooms in the forest...

A sort of palm-like plant that grows from cliffs in the cloud forest...

Another cloud forest pic (this time with 2 palms)...

A climbing aroid (not sure of the genus--could be Anthurium or Philodendron)...

And finally, a butterfly on a rock on the trail in Valle de Cocora...
