STATES WITH THE HIGHEST NUMBER OF TEAMS IN NCAA DIVISION-I MEN'S HOCKEY'S "FROZEN FOUR" (1948-2004)
Michigan is the state that claims the largest number of teams that have won the NCAA Division-I hockey championship with 18 championships (including 9 for the University of Michigan). However, Massachusetts has sent more teams to the "Frozen Four". Colorado is the only team from the West in this list. Not only has no Southern team has ever been to the "Frozen Four", but no Southern team has even made an NCAA hockey tournament appearance.
