COUNTIES WITH THE SMALLEST MARGINS BETWEEN BUSH VOTES AND GORE VOTES IN 2000

In no county was the presidential vote tied in 2000. However, Gore only beat Bush by one vote in Clay County, Missouri, on the outskirts of Kansas City.

In all of these counties, the winner got less than 50 percent of the vote, due to third-party candidates (including Nader).
