Singapore Botanical Gardens is huge--extending approximately one mile by one-half mile, with a broad number of tropical plant species.
First, the Palm Valley, in the middle of the gardens...

An unusual orchid called the Singapore orchid (Vanda miss Joaquim)...
There was a preserved tropical rainforest in the gardens...
A very rare and threatened tree...the meranti (Shorea gratissima)...and is the only known public meranti tree in Singapore...
One of many banyanizing Ficus in the gardens...this is Ficus kurzii...
Another banyanizing Ficus...this one in the rainforest...the Johore fig (Ficus kerkhovenii)...
A fake waterfall in the gardens where you can walk behind...
